1. Manage a sunShine project in a CVS repository

sunBow provides a built in mechanism to administer project resources in a CVS repository. This document describes the necessary steps to create a project from a repository. Synchronizing and committing the resources is also explained.

1.1. Create a connection to the repository

First we have to create a connection to a repository server. For that open the CVS Repositories view. Select "New/CVS Repository Location" from the context menu. The following dialog opens:

1.2. Check out a project

After we have created a connection to a CVS repository we can browse the repository in the view:

All modules from the server are displayed in a tree. To check out a module and create a new project in sunBow select "Check out as Project" from the context menu of a module. You can also check out only a subfolder of a module and create a project of it.

1.3. Synchronize, commit changed resources

The checked out resources are copied to a local folder. You can edit the resources with the tools integrated in sunBow or using external programs. After working on the resources with external programs you have to do a refresh in sunBow (context menu).

To commit the changes to the CVS repository there are two possibilities in the "Team" context menu of the Navigator view:

"Commit" transfers the changes to the repository. If you want to browse the changes before committing select "Synchronize with Repository". This selection opens a view where all changed resources are listed. Selecting a file from the list shows the changes.
